tunze 1073.090 Pump Questions

Roger,

I bought a used 1073.090 which I am running external to a 2x100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank holding system.

2" Bulkhead -> 2" Vinyl Hose -> 2" True Union Ball Valve -> 2"-1.5" Threaded Reducer -> Pump Inlet

Outlet is 1.5" SpaFlex PVC all the way back to a second stock tank (~ 8').

First Question:
The pump seems a little noisy, almost like it's still in a 'partial' startup mode ?? It's not taking in air or spitting out bubbles.
I removed the impeller cover and everything is clean with no obvious wear, etc. Any ideas ?

Second question:
This pump (which has no external heat sink) is submersible, correct ?

Obviously submerging it would reduce the noise level, but I'd really like to resolve the issue (if there is one) that's causing the noise.

Where did you get it from? We had some with wrong impeller covers that were very noisy and I can send a replacement. You have to be very careful to not break the ceramic shaft when you open the pump.

It is submersible.
