I need to replace the black adaptor that connects the ato controller to e pump itslelf...it is black attic with 4 set screws to connect each of the wires. D you know what this is called or where I could buy one and if this is the only way it will operate. I just bought a new pump as well and since I could not get the screws to move due to Ruston the black plastic adaptor. Wi the new pump I wired the controller and the pump together using wire nuts...the pump started and then stopped right away and doesn't seem to be working. Should it not work being wired with wire nuts?

This is the part you need, we don't sell them, however you can get them at most electronics stores, they are called European Terminals.

The wire nuts should work as well, typically what happens in a case like this is the wire wicked in water and has corroded and is a poor conductor as a result. You will need to cut back to where the wire is shiny copper on both the pump and osmolator pigtail. The controller has a circuit breaker that kills the pump if it draws more than 1200mA on units made since 2008 and 800mA on units made before 2008. If this is an old unit, the power supply should be 9V to keep the mA draw within the limit. This is a safety that prevents the pump from taking all the power and leaving no power for the circuit board to run its safety functions.

It is fairly new...bought it last year. What I am asking is if the pump was connected to the controller using wire nuts it should not have burned out a brand new pump, correct? I'm going to try with the wire nuts again to see if it was just a loose connection or not
