Hi, I have an old style osmolator that was working fine until I splashed the control module a bit during a water change. One of the chips to the right of the alarm got fried but everything else looks fine. Can it be fixed or replaced because the pump is pretty new?

It is a long shot, but you can try rinsing it with distilled water and then 90% isopropyl alcohol and spraying with compressed air and being sure it is thoroughly dry before reapplying power. 90% of the time, water damage is terminal since electricity was usually connected at the time and this fries out many components.

thanks for the tip but one of the chips looks fried and is missing three prongs that looks like they melted off. can that chip be replaced? or can the anything be done short of buying a new osmolator?

You can get a 5017 controller only but it is 3/4ths the cost of a complete osmolator as it is most of the value of the unit. It cannot be repaired.
