Tunze 6020

Hello,

I just purchased the 6020 Turbelle Nanostream, installed vertical, propeller up but impeller keeps jumping and hitting the discharge ring. As a result, it's not putting out any flow and it sounds like the impeller is being damaged.

Unit is new, just purchased today.

Thanks!

Make sure the 2 blue rubber stops in the front housing are pressed in, they sometimes come loose in shipping and could be too close to the propeller. I would also rinse the pump as some dust inside from shipping could also gum it up.

just got mine and just set it up, pump does a sort of whistle
i look at the 2 rubber stops in from the look like is they are too big for the hole, not sure if it should be completely in

i can shot a picture

A little bit of the bushing sticks down, but it should be pushed in as far as possible.

Some more noise than normal should be expected for the first 2 weeks as it breaks in.

i noticed that noise comes from vibrations, if i hold the powerhead in the middle of the tank from power cord i can't hear it

i add a silicon pad between powerhead and glass inside the tank and did help a little

is tunze 6015 more silent? or maybe the controlled 6040?

or you know any other trick to make it quiter

thanks

Make sure that all 4 rubber bushings between the pump and magnet are in place and the rubber ring around the magnet is in place. If this is OK and it has run at least 2 weeks the problem is probably the balance of the propeller and a new one will fix it. It should be a very quiet pump.
