I need some additional flow for my tank. I cuuently have four 6025s. I was doing some research to determine if i should go with a 6045 instead of an additional 6025. I came across a forum where someone states that the 6025 and 6045 are identical except for the outer shell. He states that the 6045 has larger gapping which allows for more flow. Is this true? I have modded my 6025s to allow for more flow. So, is a modded 6025 putting out close to an unmodded 6045? But wouldnt a modded 6045 put out more?

That was true in the past but the 6045 was redesigned a few months ago and now features a mechanical flow adjustment and that is mainly what sets the 6045 apart, you can adjust the flow from 1150-450gph in roughly 150gph increments.
