Tunze 6060 - Reducing flow

Hi,

Since a pump is a motor, can I safely put a rheostat (for mortors, not for lighting) to modulate (reduce) the flow of my pumps? If not, can you explain exactly why I can not?

No, synchronous motors are controlled by Hz, not amps or volts. It is not possible to control the speed without causing serious motor damage.
