Tunze 6080 on wavemaker

I know the 6080 is not designed to be on a wavemaker, but I seem to recall reading it can be safely switched on/off a couple times and hour without undue stress. If switched more frequently is it wear and tear on the brakes?

No less than 15 minute intervals or will damage the motor

Thanks Shawn, 15 min is better than I thought. What exactly is damaged in the motor. Is it just the brakes, that is the only component(s) that I could see taking the brunt of the switching?

The brakes wear out, then the pump will burn out if this isn't noticed and repaired within a couple days. 15 minutes is the minimum but longer is better.
