I just pulled my tunze 6100 out for routine cleaning & I noticed that the wires going into the pump are now exposed. I amnot going to use this thing until I hear from Roger. Can it be repaired? Do I fill the junction with silicone or do i just scrap the pump. The pump is only 2 years old. It doesent look like water has leaked into the internals just the black cover over the wires has broken. Please advise

I have the same thing on one of my 6100's. The three internal wires still have the insulation on them just the outside covering was pulled out of the motor. All I did was silicone around the wiring to the block. Has been working fine for me. Dont really see the need to throw $200 at that problem.

The main problem in this case is water wicks down the wire into the driver and eventually destroys the driver, this typically takes 3-6 months to occur. I would replace the motor. The pump is low voltage so it is relatively safe and the wires are insulated and the connections inside the motor are sealed but it is still an unnessecary risk.
