Was just curious if there is any good information on comparing the tunze 6105 to the mp40 ?

I am wanting to use 2 tunze pumps with the digital aquatics apc module to produce a standing wave.

Tunze- able to direct flow, quiet, great customer service, good flow

Vortech- good flow, built in controller

I'm not really up,on all the vortech pros n cons as I haven't set mine up yet. I have had and continue to use Tunze,, lot of flow and love them

For the Vortech you can also add great customer service. Tunze has narrow flow (or let's say more narrow than the wide flow of the ecotech).

For me about the only con for the vortech is the noise. Unless left on constant I can hear it. Mine is about a year old and not loud by any means but it can definitely be heard.

That's good to know the customer service, I assumed so but not ever using it I didn't want to speak on something I'm unaware of. I was only pointing out a few positives....

Tunze is freaking QUIET compared to Vortech.
My aquarium is in-wall mounted. When I had the MP40 on NTM, you could hear it ramping up and down in the basement and upstairs. The external motor would send vibrations through the acrylic then transfer them to the studs. It was like listening to a out of balance washer non-stop!

I will say, EcoTech has AWESOME customer service! The first MP40 was bad out of the box (power supply). They overnighted me a replacement the next day.

I ended up returning the MP40 and going with the Tunze. And although they are a little more of an eye soar, I can handle them since they are so quiet and I am still get the standing wave.
