Tunze 6110 Question

Can you put the 6110 on an x-10 controller to shut off at night, similar to the photocell but this would allow the octopus to control the unit

I am not too familiar with these systems but if it shuts it off- just like a timer would- and it is for a period of at least an hour, it would have no negative impact on the pump. Now, the photocell does not turn the pump off, it drops it to Power 2 so it just makes for a slower constant flow rather than off. This is safer for one reason. Small dotybacks, damsels etc. may go in the pump while it is off and get pureed. It is unlikely but it is more like impossible if the pump doesn't turn off. FWIW the photocell is less than $12, I don't know how much the X10 deal is.

can I get the photocell from you, also I know that the single controller will control up to 2 units( I realize that the will be working as 1) if I use the photocell does that mean that I could not add another pump since their is only 1 additional pin connector on the controller

Adding a second pump requires a splitter, it looks like a miniature cable box and just splits the output in two. The photocell is a spare part and I sell spare parts direct so you can call me and I will get one out to you. I will be out most of tomorrow but I have an answering machine and in an emergency you can call my cell.
