Tunze 6205 Propeller Housing.........

Hello Roger,

I saw somewhere on RC that you can use a 6205 Propeller Housing #6205.130 on a 6105 to help distribute flow better. Is that possible? And if so, what are the downside of doing this? It seems only an upside and would like to convert my 6105 to the bigger housing if that is ok. Right now can only run my 6105 30-40% without blowing sand and run the 6205 at 100% with no issue of sandstorm.

Please advice so I can upgrade if you give it your blessing?????

Yes, you can do this, the disadvantage is that the flow will be very wide with a short range, something like 3ft by 4ft. It is fine in a short tank, but in a longer tank you might no be able to get flow across the tank. You should be able to angle the pump upwards to avoid a sandstorm as is.

Thanks Roger for the info. The tank is 60" across, what are you thoughts for that application? Still feel I will lose too much distance?

I would test it and see what you think, just try the cover off the 6205 you have and see how it works for you.
