Tunze 9002 break in question

I just installed a new 9002 on a Nano Cube 28. It's tight fit and impossible to see the waterline mark, since the sides of the chamber are not see through.
I just have to eyeball it...

I can't go any lower or else the top of the 9002 will get squeezed out by the chamber wall/divider.

I can see bubbles inside, but it's really really loud. If I have the blue screw closed tight, it gets quieter, but bubbles never rise to be visible in the cup tube.

I know it's suppose to break in, but do I let it break in running obnoxiously loud, or break it in quietly?

The noise, most likely it sounds like a coffee maker, sort of gurgling noise, is because water is getting into the air intake, the skimmer is too deeply submerged. If the noise sounds like spraying something with a high pressure hose nozzle it is not submerged deeply enough. Please let me know which noise it is.

It's gotten a lot better now. What I'm hearing is mostly pump motor and vibration;
With my StevieT slim cup, it amplifies the noise somewhat.
I have to use the custom cup coz I have a Nano Cube 28g.

I'm getting tea color skimmate, and the bubbles do rise all the way.

Kinda wondering what people on various forums meant when they say it's "silent".
Will it get even quieter as time goes by?
To me it's not silent at all.

just a tip ,i found with mine(silent) that it was all loose inside from i assume rough handling during shipping,it may pay you to take it out dry it off and take it apart,then put it back together ensuring the pump is a snug fit in the holder and that the venturi and air hose are fitted correctly,then test it in a bucket of old sea water,you can also set it up pretty close in the bucket as well

It should be very quiet for a small skimmer, the only noise would be some air noise and a slight pump hum. r.d.m. may be correct, it could be something has been loosened in shipping. Also, make sure the rubber feet are installed on the magnet holders. These were loose on a small strip of wax paper in the box, these reduce the transmission of vibration quite a bit.
