Hi,
Three weeks ago i bought a new 9002.At the begging the noise was unbearable. Now it is much better but it is not as quiet as it is described by many who have it.It makes a constant fast train noise. Can it become more silent or that s it.Is there something i must do?I tried to change its position up or down but didn't have any results.

If it is a coffeemaker like noise, this is from water inside the airline. Let me know more details of the noise and I will tell you how to solve it.

OK, so at somepoint it was submerged too deep and water got in to the air intake, their is now water in the airline and it is causing this noise. Their are two fixes, one easy but takes time and the other is instant but more work.

1) EASY- Unplug the skimmer, close the air screw all the way, plug it back in, wait about 20 seconds and very slowly open the air screw, the built up suction should remove most of the water, the remainder will evaporate usually within a week. You can do this a few times to try to remove as much as possible.

2) SURE WAY- Unplug the skimmer, remove the pump, drain the air hose, reassemble and plug back in. As long as it is not again submerged too deep, the noise should be gone.

Thanks a lot i ll do it first thing tomorrow.I don't know if it has to do with the noise but when i screwed all the way the air screw to calibrate the unit the air was always there it never stops. It was much less in the chamber but didn't stop.
Regards

After following your instructions i went with the sure way.I think that the sound is a little less but it is still there.

Hmm, The only moving part is the impeller in the pump, it may be worth opening the pump and checking that the impeller is OK and no debris is inside.

Besides this, it could be the pump is in wrong, if it is in correct as you probably know, it is difficult to install because the cord must wrap around the pump to exit the hole for the cord and the nozzle goes through a small hole in a plate. If it is backwards, the pump sprays water at the air intake.
