Upgraded to a Tunze 9006 from my swc120 on a 16 month old 65gal fully stocked sps tank.I installed the skimmer 7 days ago.Its in 8" of water in sump.I opened the air screw 3 full turns and left for a week,as of today still no foam at all?. When I try to open the air screw more than 4 turns the skimmer makes a jet engine noise that is very loud.I know it takes time for skimmers to break in but after a few days shouldn't there be at least a little foam??

It needs to be in at least 9.5" of water, 10.5" would be preferred. The marked water line is the recommended water level and it should be no more than about 1" below that line. You will get no foam at ann 8" water level unless you add the 9005.400 extension set.

Roger thanks for reply I wish I was told that when I bought it but I have to tell you that I can't believe you guys put your Tunze name on this piece of junk. After opening it to inspect it I found the output of the pump was cracked, the bottom door of the skimmer cracked when I opened it and then the pump guider cracked when I pulled the pump out.The entire insides look like someone just crazy glued this thing together.I will ship this thing to you just to show you the quality of this thing if you want..Allan

I don't see how being broken in shipping or a lack of researching your purchase reflects on the quality of the product. I have discussed at length in this forum the need for the extension set on 9005/ 9006 when used in sump, our catalog and manual are free downloads and also cover this. You would need to contact Xenia in Canada for service but the shipping damage should be covered.
