Tunze 9010 water depth requirements?

How deep in the water in the sump is the 9010 skimmer supposed to sit? I need to know this because im designing a sump and need to build it according to the skimmers requirements for best performance, any help greatly appreciated.

3.9" is the minimum but 6-8" is generally preferred as it minimizes splash and bubbles and gives a margin of error for evaporation/ run dry protection.

Roger, deos the water height affect the flowthrough rate or height of foam in the skimmer at all?

There may be a small difference at either extreme but not much.
