Tunze Aquawind Aquarium Fan Placement

Roger,
Looking for a fan that I could mount to the inside ceiling of a canopy and use an exhaust fan.

Can you do that with this unit?

Looking for a quiet, reliable fan to dissapate some of the heat in a closed system.

If it is able to be cabinet mounted, may go ahead and get one for under the stand as well.

Thanks,
Ismael

This fan only works on an open top tank, it is designed to dissipate the "cloud layer" over the tank. Hydrogen bonds keep a vapor layer on the waters surface and this serves as an insulator preventing further evaporation and loss of heat, by disturbing this layer we increase the evaporation and dissipation of heat. In a closed canopy the water cannot escape efficiently and the built up humidity and possible condensation will ruin the fan. For canopies and cabinets the best bet is standard 4" fans installed with a bore hole of the correct diameter to ventilate the enclosure, this will mainly draw out heat from equipment and trapped humidity but it won't have the same effect on the "cloud layer" as a fan that is more directed at the surface.
