Tunze ATO pump help

Hey guys,

I've set up my Tunze 3155 ATO about two weeks ago and up until yesterday it worked fine, now when the water level drops below where it should be the pump kicks on and pumps water in for about 3 seconds then the water flow slowly goes to nothing with the pump still humming as it's on, it would sit like this forever if I don't shut it off, why would the flow start strong then linger off into nothing

I don't know anything about ato...but next time it happens put your hand on the motor if it's hot like burn your hand hot the motor might be bad

That's strange. Anything blocking or restricting the pump to work harder? Head to high? I have both the nano and 3155. And the only problem I have is when the reservoir empties and I fill it back up. I just have to reset it by power on power off. I'd go on RC create a thread on their forum. Their sales rep will get back to pretty fast. Good luck.

Ya it's real strange, the tubing is only about 2 feet long and only has to travel up roughly 9 inches

Nothing restricting it that I know of. The only thing is sometimes the pump lays flat on it's side in the reservoir

Maybe that could be the issue? Again I'd post on tunze's forum.

Is the pump or ato set up new? May be a pump going bad, when my pump started slowing down on water transfer I changed it out to new pump and problem was fixed, I now keep an extra pump around just in case
