need some advise about the tank/ base unit
Dose the tank need polystyrene or other matrial before placing on base unit . there is no mention of this.

i have allways used polystyrene in the past with other tanks .

It is ideal to use an underlayment mat.

the mat you refer to is it the thin foam type ?

also what allowance from to rim of tank, level of water hight needs to be set ,for a wave box ?

Yes, it is just a thin foam. I get a wave of 2cm using the built in overflow, I set the water level for 6cm from the top.
