TUNZE Biotope B120

They aren't imported- just no way to transport them. They are very cool though. I would beg to differ on the price though, add up a 120 with stand, fancy euro light, filter with all those features and powerheads and you can't beat it. The stand is the best part since the material is an epoxy based MDF and the pigment is actually part of the material. It is almost indestructible and water doesn't hurt it at all.

OK...now that I can't get one I want one. No way to import it.....everything gets shipped around these days...must be a way to import one. What would be the additional cost over the list price?

There would be a way to import it but it is risky and there would be no guarantee it would get to me unbroken and I won't guarantee it will get to you unbroken. It would likely cost just shy of $1000 in importation because it is a big bulky item so the freight would be very high, Air Freight is $2.85 a kilo in general with all the fees and surcharges and brokerage is about $100 flat plus storage fees and tariffs and government charges. Then I would have to get it on a freightline to you and from threads I have read here that could be as much as $500. I really don't think it is practical. I stock everone of the components except the tank and stand and perhaps we could look into bringing in a stand and then you could find somebody to make the glass. Hopefully in a couple years we will be bringing these in and when the volume gets high enough and we have a method worked out it will be feasible.

Thanks for the detailed info. Do you have the dimensions of the stand? What color is it ? I would be interested in the stand and canopy (height of canaopy--can it fit MH's?). If you can get back to me with as price on that , I would apreciate it.

Canopies are a real rarity in Europe- the tank comes with a 2 lamp 150w HQI pendant. Canopies trap in heat and violate european electrical codes in most circumstances so they are few and far between unless they are using waterproof flourescent lighting. The stand can be made in any color you wish. The material is pretty neat, it is like MDF but made with a plastic resin and the pigment is in the resin. Standard is black. I have wanted a fire engine red one myself for sometime.
