Tunze Care Magnet Long Squeaking

I recently bought a Tunze Care Magnet Long, I haven't used it much since getting it because of the squeaking sound it makes. I don't know if its normal but its a terrible sound

Does anyone know of a way to stop the squeaking on these?

Is a blade installed on each end? They can make a squeezing sound but if a blade is on each side it should not cause any harm. If one side has no blade, this can scratch the glass.

Yes the blades are on both ends, do you think replacing the blades would make a difference because the sound it makes is terrible and makes me cringe so I am not using it

I don't want to buy something different if I can get away with it

I have found the squeaking cause by the outside plastic rubbing on the glass. Replacing or moving the felt pads solved it for me.

Replacing the blades or felt if worn would be a possible solution.

Thanks for the info, I will have a look tomorrow at the possitioning of the pads. They cant be worn because it has only done one clean of my front glass since new

Just remembered you get two sets of blades when you buy the unit, I have just swapped them out and it seems to be fine now. The blades I took out seem fine, no defects so I am not sure what the problem was

one of the few complaints I have with the tunzes is this issue.

I padded the dry side with kitchen roll which not only stopped the squeaking but makes it much easier to use.

These are overrated mag scrapers imo.

I disagree, these are the best mag scrapers I've ever used. I have 3 along with 5 or six other brands. The best part about them is its impossible to trap gravel between it and the glass - no chance of scratches.

I found the same problem I just found some Thick felt pads for furniture chair legs at the hardware store and replaced the outside pads. Works great

My tunze nano used to do that terrible noise. I think the noise finished when the felt pads got wet accidentally

Mine does that when outside glass is wet or dirty. Try cleaning glass first. If still noisy clean/replace pads.
