Tunze CO2 solonoid

We had a customer ask about using a Tunze CO2 Solonoid on its own without the pH controller. As the valve is supplied with power from the controller would this be possible with a transformer and what is the type of plug used on the valve called?

It would not work. Like most Solenoids it is designed to be normally closed for safety. The power is supplied to the solenoid by the same transfromer used on the Osmolator. From their power is sent to pH controller through a PS2 plug- like what your mouse or keyboard uses. The pH controller opens and closes the solenoid, by gating the power back to the solenoid. Without this connection the solenoid does nothing.
