Tunze Comline Wavebox 6208

So what's the verdict on the (comparatively new) Tunze Comline Wavebox? If you are using one, please let us know what you think of it.

I'm actually thinking of supplementing the flow in my current tank which uses an MP40. Would this be like mixing matter and antimatter in the same tank or would the two complement each other? Thanks.

My bad. I saw it on Aquacave (for $332 BTW), and did not notice that the availability status is "pre-order". Seems like a pretty good price though.

A wavebox is the perfect solution for moving the entire water volume, but you still need something to stir the water and help any detritus move to the overflow. The Vortech is an excellent compliment to a wave box.

Thanks. I am either going to move my current tank or expand to a larger tank (gee, I wonder which option I'll choose). In either case one side of the tank would be flush with a wall so I would not be able to use 2 Vortechs. Sounds like the Wavebox is the way to go then. FWIW, the 6208 is scheduled to be released next month.

Here we are a month later...I pre-ordered this last week.

Any word on when they will arrive in the shops?

Also, I'd like to add a 6095 to the other end of the tank.

Any thoughts on this combo?

I'd like to get a nice oscillation going with the wavebox and a larger spread out flow at one end to move things back towards the overflow.

I signed up for a notification for the 6208 wavebox from one of the big on-line retailers in Canada and nothing yet. So I'm still waiting.

A 6095 and a wavebox would be a great combination on most mid sized tanks. What size is your tankl spiider so we can be more helpful.

Thanks for the advice, it is a 40b.

My thought was to put the wavebox at one end and the 6095 at the other.

Also, anyone have experience if the 7092 controller that comes with the wavebox will be enough for the 6095 as well r should I up it to the 7906 usb version and have more program-ability?

A 7092 can be used for a 6095 or a wavebox not both at the same time. If you want both I would suggest the 7096 which can cotrol both seperatly in their designed modes. Th 7092 is either a wavemaker timer or a pump timer at one time.

The new Wavebox should be available in 3-4 weeks.

The Wavebox along with a 6095 will be more than enough flow for a 40 breeder.

With this set-up, controlling the 6095 will not really be necessary as the wave action will vary the flow enough. If you would like to control the 6095 anyway, I'd go with a 7096 to control both. You could then use the 7096 to pulse the 6095 at set intervals while keeping the wave going constantly. One of the advantages of doing it this way is that the Food Timer would work on both at the same time. You'd also have the other features of the 7096, such as Storm Mode, Night Mode and the Moonlight.

This isn't exactly true. The 7092 can control a Wavebox and a controllable pump at the same time. The two devices can be set to run together, if for example both are on one end of the tank, or in inverse mode, where they're on opposite ends of the tank. But used in this way the second pump will just be adding more force and height to the wave. If these are the only two flow devices in the aquarium, then this would generally not be a good use of the second pump.

Guys, how do you think this guy would work on a 125 gallon (6 foot long tank)? I know they rate it up to 210 gallons but wasn't sure if 6 feet would be too long.

Thanks for the advice Craig. Too bad they are taking so long to get. I hoped they were going to be out in Nov.

I think what I will do is add the 6208 first and run it off the included 7092...then add the 6095 later and at the same time get the 7096.

I don't really need the moon light, I have one already...but I guess it just gives me more choices.

Just pre-ordered the Comline Wave Box at Premium Aquatics for my 75. With 14% Black Friday discount, it was $285.

I pre-ordered mine also from Premium Aquatics for the $285 not bad of a deal. I called them and they told me to expected around December 19. Lets hope so.

Wonder what the delay is? Anyways, if I get it by Christmas, I'm happy. It'll be replacing 2 Maxijet 1200s controlled by the wavemaker function of a Reef Keeper Light, which is plowing furrows in the sand.

Not looking that way. I email them on Friday and this was their response.

"Last I checked on those I was told late Dec or early Jan"

that is what tunze told them. So i will not expected till Jan.

i just pre ordered mine as well .. i have been wanting a wave box for years .. i dont care or like the MPs .. why would you want wires hanging on the side of your tank from the dry side .. every tank i have seen with the vortechs just make a show tank another reg old tank .. i would rather have everything under the canopy in hiding .. plus at night when you slow the wave box down so the fish can sleep i know my pair of evo 1050 power heads will keep the movement going in the tank along with my pump just going to put them on a timer with the lights and wave box so they come on when the wave box shuts down ...
