Tunze Deco rock & substrate questions

I'm setting up a new 180r 72 x 24 x 24 with 1 x Wavebox, 1 x 6100, and maybe 1 x 6060 circulation.

I have 2 questions:
---
1. Which substrate would work best? I want as fine as possible for Sand sifting gobies and such but also don't want a sandstorm, depth will be 1-3". Ripples in the sand from the wavebox action would be cool though. I'm considering:

A) CaribSea Aragamax Oolitic Select Reef Sand: 0.5-1.02mm grain size. (more consistent grain size than the sugar sized)

B) CaribSea Aragamax Sugar-Sized Reef Sand: 0.2 - 1.2mm diameter grain size.

-----
2. When the Tunze deco rock is used, is it normally in the middle of the back wall somewhere (perhaps in corners) or sitting on the bottom substrate? It looks like it has a slight angle upwards.

Thanks

Yeah, I am thinking of getting the rock and placing it in my front right corner .... but what does the "back" of the thing look like ??
possibly put a few small bits of rubble around it to help it blend in.

I have an AGA 90 with the "Off Center" overflow so the corner spot should push flow to the overflow.

Any pictures of the back of the "deco rock" ??

It has a slight upward angle. The back slopes down and covers the pump. The rock should be on top of a rock structure for easy removal of the pump and for preventing the pump from sucking in sand. The substrate is really up to you, the stream rock angles the flow upward and prevents major disturbance. Usually you position the rock on a short rock structure on a side or back corner.
