Tunze DOC 9010 or 9015

Roger:

Was interested in purchasing either the 9010 or 9015. My current set up is a 70gallon oceanic with a 20gallon sump (10 gallons of water when it is running) and has a yellow tang, hippo tang, two clowns, 80lbs LR and some softies.

I would like to use the DOC in my 70 until I set up a recenlty purchased 120AGA in the near future. Stocking would be similar in the 120 with one or two more fish and some additional softies.

I've seen some threads where a 9020 was being used on a 110gallon tank and 9015 on smaller sized tanks (say 20-40).

Just wanted to get your input.

My current skimmer is an ASM G2 with sedra 3500 pump which is extremely noisy.

I think the 9010 is all you need.

I figure you can't go wrong with overskimming so Tunze DOC 9015 it is.

Tom, the 9020 is going to be bigger and requires a bucket to collect the skimmate. the 9015 and 9010 are comparable in that they are the same size (just a bigger cup on the 9015). The way i always see it is if i can skim more in the same space, why not, but to dedicate more space is another story (plus you have to worry about the bucket overflowing if you forget to empty it, compared to the cup which is in the sump).
