It's good that your happy with your pumps but doesn't it suck to know you only got half of what you paid for? Forget the cheap fix I would ask for half the money back, then you could just get 3more and be where you wanted to be in the first place.

What sort of logic is that? Then when the shroud fix comes you could get those and have twice the flow you wanted in the first place.. for "free" according to your logic.

Tunze's gonna fix it, it's pretty evident that nobody was complaining about lack of flow before this study came out. Now all the guys that want something for nothing are coming out of the woodwork exclaiming their tank has suffered at the hands of a miscalculation on Tunze's part. :uzi:

Twice the flow? you mean the actual flow you PAID for fanboy. Read my earlier posts I like Tunzes they have quality products doesnt matter that you were happy or not, YOU DID NOT GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR, bottom line, they said they are going to fix it that's fine but as a fast remedy for those who dont want to wait- nor should they have to - Let's see if i can buy something from Tunze but only give them half then 6 months later give them the other half. Wont fly with them why should it fly with the consumers. If I had a 6305 and was happy with the flow from it i would rather have the difference back in cash.

If you got a refund to buy more pumps, you'd end up with twice the flow (assuming you ran all the pumps at once) like you were insinuating once the shroud fix comes out. I'm not saying you'll be getting twice the flow with the fix, you'll be getting "the flow you paid for" with the fix.

For the record I will still buy Tunze products and if I upgrade to a larger tank again I would still have the 6305 on my shopping list.

Oh I see, but I would op for the money instead if I was happy with the pump.

Opting for money isn't an option Tunze is giving so it's kind of a moot point.

I guess we'll see what things are like in 6 months time when Tunze has produced new shrouds for the affected models.

anyone who actually believes that a tunze 6105 has less flow than an MP10 has never owned either pump. I've used both. Heck, a modded tunze 6025 is more powerful than my MP10. I cant imagine what my old 6105 would do in my 30G. an MP10 is a NANO pump. some people get carried away in the vortech hype. they're not that powerful, people. who's seen that guy on youtube (and maybe RC?) who's got like 8 or 10 mp40's on one wall of his tank? how many people will tell you that an MP10 is not enough for a ~30g tank? i beg you, try to find someone who will say that a 6105 is not enough for a 30g.

stop looking at the numbers and think about the actual real-life effects of each pump.

^lol, because they're not "false." tunze just agreed that those methods give you data which says their pumps are falsely advertised. it is clear to anyone who actually has experience with tunzes that their pumps are comparable (or better) than anyone elses with the same gph rating.

case in point: this guy gets a wave on his 80G tank with a 6105.

the study says an MP10 is more powerful than a 6105. anyone who owns an MP10 (myself included) will tell you that it is NOT capable of such a wave on that large of a tank. It cant even do that on my 30G, and trust me, i've fiddled with the settings and positioning for hours.

If you can't discuss this topic like adults and wish to resort to name calling, that's fine. Just expect me to relieve you of your posting abilities.

You've been warned.

Half the money back ...... Now it is a cheap fix, huh? It is getting the pumps to push the flow they initially cliamed they would. I see that as standing behind their claims and not saying "togh crap".

What more can they possibly do besides fix the problem? It is a whopping 1-2 months for the majority of Tunze owners with 6105s. It can also be said that people were plenty happy with these pumps up untill a few days ago. They will still have the same flow they have had while they wait the short waiting period to get the fix.

Do a YouTube search for an MP10 creating a wave in a 75. I just saw one. If you can't make a wave with an MP10 in a 30 you aren't doing something right. I think people don't understand what these prop pumps are designed to do. It is relatively simple a concept to understand how an old school highly directional powerhead works and it is very easy to visualize this by just watching the pump blast what it in front of it like a fire hose. The very nature of the wide flow pumps makes it more difficult to rely on visual cues so looking at the spec sheet is more important to figure out what you need.

I have a 75 heavy on the rockwork with an MP10 augmenting a CL and wavysea fed by my return pump so the MP10 was only added to help me add some random programing to mix things up. I still can't put anything near the front of the MP10 without fear it would be blown away. This wasn't a surprise with any pump rated at 1500 gph. What did surprise me was the undertow created when running in long pulse mode. The entire substrate of the tank gets a genle rush toward the MP10 side and up the glass to feed it. My best advice to anyone trying to figure out what one of these pumps is doing is to not look at what is right in front of the pump but everywhere else.
