Tunze in a 75g?

We don't accept returns, we do repairs under warranty but short of fixing and returning the product that is it. The pumps have a 2 year warranty against defects.

Some dealers take returns, I don't. Most will only take back unused items. I don't sell direct and my terms to the dealer clearly lay out that I don't take returns. I honestly answer questions and support the custmer to the best of my ability. I can honestly say I have maybe made 2 returns in my whole life, I just don't believe in them, I bought it, my bad and it shouldn't be someone elses problem, that is why their is eBay and why we have forums like this and books and magazines- for customers to research before they buy. I have a pretty good reputation for giving honest answers and many others here have added their unbiased input but you have to decide.

Tunze Stream signal format

Tunze Stream signal format

What is the signal format of the Tunze stream pump control input? I have a microcontroller that can do PWM and analog, but I can't seem to find the specs on the device control. Is that something that Tunze will share? Alternatively, has anyone put the controller on an oscilliscope to see what it is doing? Since I already have the controller working on my system, I would prefer to program it rather than adding a second controller. Sorry if this seems off topic, but it seems like I might have the right group to answer this question.

I appreciate the honesty Roger. I did not doubt that for a bit. I was just poking fun at the return policy is all. No harm or foul intended. I have more respect for you now knowing that you are not on here blowing smoke. For that reason alone, I am going to throw the dice and hope it works.

Thanks for the quick replies and "HONEST" advice and suggestions.

To update everyone....I had a buddy that has a 180g tank that brought one of his 6000's over last night for me to try. Even at the lowest setting it is toomuch for my sand bed to handle. I aimed them up, at the rocks and any other place to try and help. Still to much flow for a sand bed. My wife ordered a package deal for us the pumps are coming on Thursday along with the controller. So I am selling the whole package for $700. That includes (2) 6000 pumps and (1) 7095 multi-controller. Exactly what I paid for them.

I wished I would have tried this approach first before spending the money. Oh well. Lesson learned. Let me know if any of you are interested. Again, my package will be here Thursday this week. This will save you $60 from any online store plus taxes if buying local.

I would try your friends pump longer term if possible. You could try turning it down on the driver. I have to believe this is not unfeasible. I personally am a bare bottom or 1-2" of aragonite guy, but I have a friend with a 180 DSB and he uses 2 6100 and a wavebox and initially he had problems but after 2 months the sand doesn't move anymore. I use a 6000 in my 75 but I don't have a DSB. I can only tell you the flow is definitely good for the animals and the overall tank health but DSB's are not something I have a lot of experience with.

I wish I could have used it longer. He went home last night and put them in his tank and called me a few minutes ago and said he loves them in his. He also has the wavebox he is setting up as we speak. he has no complaints.

Maybe my rock configuration has somethign to do with it? Not sure. I tried everything possible to make it work. And maybe like you said, it just needs to run for awhile. Would rather not chance it and then have to take a hit on used pumps. I coudl always get rid of the sand bed and avoid that issue, but I like the natural look the sand gives as well as the benefits to the deep sand bed.

Well I am going to stick with (1) of the 6000 and make it work somehow. I may need to get the deco rock or rearrange my rock work. I think the benefits of this pump are worth some time in figuring it out. However, 2 of them is too much.

So I sold the second already but do have the 7095 controller still available if anyone is interested in it. Let me know.

Thanks,

Todd
