I can fill you in on what I know.
The pros:
The most energy efficient pump on the market.
Relatively quiet compared to air cooled pumps.
The cons:
They do not handle on and off use well.
They are recirculating pumps and should not be used to drive skimmers or pressure applications.
The 1073.09 is the only model that can be run submerged.
They are not dead silent, they are quieter than the majority of pumps in their size class but by no means are they comparable to a smaller submersible pump.
The shaft is ceramic and can be easily broken if you are not careful removing the cover.
Just some general facts-
The 1073.09 is a very simplified version of the pumps and it has a very basic electronic start that turns the pump off and on until the unidirectional prop gets going the right way. This makes them bad for on and off use as it may need to restart itself from 4-10 times each time it is restarted to get the correct direction.
The 1073.14 and 1073.16 have an advanced electronic start that starts the right way every time. However, they have an aluminum heat sink to cool the electronics and for this reason they must not be submerged in saltwater.
