Hi! Roger

After so many people complained, it seems that the Nano 6025 is a beta product!

I am from Malaysia and bought this product in 240V. It run for about a month and became noisy as others had complained.

I opened and found to my surprise a broken shaft at the other end of the propeller! It is also a bit rusty. On closer observation, it seems that the broken part is not round i.e. there is already some corrosion before it broke!

And my pump is sitting on the upper part of my aquarium so no possibility of any sand getting into it.

My supplier told me that he had received a few complaints already but only on noisy pump.

I am sending back the pump to him for a replacement!

I apologize for the problems you had. We did not release a beta model, what happened was differences in production technique as we went into mass production affected the quality of the product. We now have the problems resolved. The hole the shaft presses into is now .5mm smaller and the shaft is pressed in under a lot more pressure. The hole in propeller assembly is .1mm smaller so the tighter fit results in much quieter operation. We do not have our own metal works and it does appear that some of the shafts may have been not to the quality we specified and we have notified the supplier of this issue. I think if you get a new pump from current production you will be satisfied. FWIW, I have been running a beta model since September and it still works without issue, I also gave one to Premium Aquatics and they still have it running quietly in the store.

Thanks Roger

I trust what you said. But, I am not sure whether the supplier will replace me the one from old or new production. If you havent seen a broken shaft case I can attach a picture here. If otherwise then ok.

I have seen it happen so I know what you are speaking of. I also had concern for this problem but as it was explained to me, the majority of pumps used in marine aquaria have a stainless steel shaft and have no issues and many Italian pumps have the same anchored on one end design. The basic of the design should be sound. I have to believe that the shafts that broke were defective in some way and we have spoken with the supplier about this.

Hi! Roger

Yeah, the shaft must be defective and the odd one out. It is impossible for the steel to break as the movement is virtually nil and confined to a small space.

I am attaching a picture herewith for the benefit of those who never encounter this problem. You can see that the whole area is tainted yellowish by the rust and the broken piece is still stuck there. The colour of the break is also not even, i.e. it took some times for the shaft to finally snap.

Hi! Roger

After my last post and sent back the nano 6025 to Singapore through the agent in Malaysia, the dealer in Singapore replaced the nano 6025 after a several months but to my dismay, they only sent back the pump, whereas, I sent them back the whole set! And I have yet to get all the parts back til now! So, todate, the replacement pump remains unused.

In the mean time, I have to buy and use another nano 6025 but found that the 4 tiny hooks have broken away 2 months back. I have to apply silicone glue to stick the C-clip back to hold the pump.

Now, the C-clip has broken! What a poor quality products. I am envied that in the US, things can be replaced immediated.

Could you please give me the address and person to contact in Asia so that i can get mine replaced?

Thanks.

The clamps were redesigned and this problem is solved. I would suggest either contacting Tunze in Germany, AquaDepot in Australia or Discus Korea.

Bad Clamps...

Bad Clamps...

Hi Guys...
I have to I Agree... The Clamps are REALLY fragile... I Just bought 2 nanostream's 6045 for my reef of 80 Gallons and in just 2 moths one of the clamps has broken.

They are TOO Fragile... I was redirecting the pump then he dropped into my hand, look for me, because if he dropped when I'm not at home, then I don't to want to thing about it....

As mentioned above and in other posts the new brackets which fixed the breakage problems have been released it sounds like the ones you have are older style. I am not sure who the distributor is down that way to get you the new brackets but Roger I am sure will know when he is back from the weekend.
