Does this unit have an adjustable surface skimmer teeth?

So, if the water level falls below the teeth (in a sumpless tank) will it cease skimming the surface? Or is it a "floating" style that adjusts to the water level?

If the water level falls it stops skimming and produces micro bubbles, a failry constant water level is necessary.
