Tunze nano skimmer questions

Just received a 9002 nanoskimmer and found the mounting bracket has been changed to a magnetic base style. I'm trying to fit it into an RSM and had wanted to install on the glass heater compartment divider. If I mount it here, the skimmer will be submerged lower than the level line indicated on the skimmer. Will this be a problem??
I know others who have mounted them low enough to close the skimmer compartment lid (I'm guessing they must have dropped them deeper than advised??)

I also found the skimmer to be quite noisy when the cup is installed. The noise is from the air intake/adjustment. The top lid of the skimmer body is not attached very well and sits up a bit (air hose seems to be pushing lid up) Could this be the cause of excessive noise??.

My 9002 is very quiet compared to the remora I had before-night and day difference with reagards to noise. I would imagine that the lid being pushed up would not be helping to muffle the air noise. I know Roger might chime in soon, but just wanted to say they run pretty quiet (mine is in my office).

Thanks for reply,

I modded/eliminated the stock air screw. I drilled a hole, ran the tube thru the top lid (which helps hold the lid on) and added an inline air screw. Its quieter and easier to reach.

I just need to know what affect running the skimmer deeper than the line shown on the skimmer body may have.

If anything the skimmer should be run shallower than the marked line and the marked line should be considered the max. I am unsure what effect it will have after the modification. Usually if run to deep and not modified the skimmer take water in through the airline and can be noisy as a result and not perform consistently.
