Tunze nano stream...got it

two of the 6025's pretty much solved all my circulation problems in my 30 gallon cube mixed... i have them on the opposite sides of the tank pointed at each other... it creates nice random flow... you'd think that 44x flow would be too much for LPS but the tentacles of the frogspawn and hammer coral are just waving back and forth in the current... while about 3-4 inches away, the polyps of a millie frag is going crazy...

Any pics flipteg?:)

here are some pictures of the Nano Streams in a 30 gallon cube... they are located on opposite sides of the tank with the outlets facing each other... the two streams are colliding right on top of the SPS zone...

here are two videos of what the flow looks like...

the milliepora is in the SPS zone... although it looks like it is getting blasted directly by the Streams, it is actually located about 5 inches directly below where the two streams collide... this shot was taken from the side of the tank... the hammer coral in the back is actually about 4 inches behind the millie...

these xenias are located at the very bottom right corner of the tank...

Thanks for the pics and info folks. I'm putting two of these on my Xmas list for my 20g. I've been worried that it would be too much flow, but after reading your posts I think it will work.

the green thing on the left is codium... it has grown to 4 times it's original size in about 2 months... on the other side is chaeto... in the picture, the codium looks like it is free standing, but it is actually tied to a small rock and then insterted between two big rocks one ontop of each other...

no issue with sand storms... as long as it is properly position and aimed, there will be no issue... the first time i put it in my tank it blew some sand up... but all was good after a little fine tuning in aiming them... i didn't get a lot of sand storm because i was using a modified Maxi-Jet 1200 before... i estimated that pump was putting out about 1300gph... that caused a major sand storm when i first turned it on... but the sand soon settled after a couple of hours... if you are using a weaker pump right now, most likely you will get a sand storm when you start using the Nano Streams... just let it be and everything will start clearing out in a few hours...

You should start off with one..I have one on my 20H and I almost had to take it out-it's a LOT of flow..even for a 20 long.

Flipteg, what are the dimensions on your tank?

i do not remember on the top of my head what the dimensions are... it's the Oceanic 30 gallon cube... i think it's 21"L x 18"W x 19"H... something like that...

I'm going to alternate them 6 hours, so only one will be running one at a time. Kinda like high and low tide.

Good to hear that one was OK in a 20 high though.

Got mine today and love them. I got two of the smaller ones (I forgot the model number). They work great on my 47 extra tall (same footprint as 30 cube). I kept one Maxijet and removed the two other Maxijets. You need to adjust them and play around a bit to get the effect you want and once you get it right they're amazing. I have both up on the top corners. One is pointing to the opposite front corner with the Maxijet converging with the stream slightly. The other is facing the glass straight ahead toward the front. I even get good flow down at the bottom and the tank is 30" tall. The Tunzes and Maxijet are at the top of the tank too. They do not take up a lot of space and ugly up the tank either. I highly recommend them.
