Tunze Nano thread

My 6025 makes some rattling noise but not much. Unless you put your ear up to to it you can't really hear it.

Is there or is there going to be a controller for the 6025?

Only the 6055 is controllable. The 6025 and 6045 cannot be controlled.

I have the nano 6025. It works wonderfully. Nice even spread out flow. Good and strong at 600 gph. I like the smallness of it and the ability to point it in any direction.

It is not silent but is very quite (you might need to move the magnet around a bit to make it quieter), vs my MaxiJet 1200 which in silent.

Also the tabs attached to the mounting bracket that fit into the 4 little slots on the magnet are quite shoddy. One broke off on my first try and anther recently. They are just thin plastic tabs that if you bend at all break right off - poor design. I glued mine last night with silicone glue, that should hold it together, ortherwise I'll need a replacement.

I thought the same thing...I was surpised that the swivel bracket wasn't actually attached to the magnet permanently during manufacturing.

i just ordered my 6025 from marinedepot

total came to 70 and change(8.99 shipping)

which is not bad at all, should be here in a few days to a week hopefully, ill get pics, specs and anything i can tell you about it!

Well the silicone did not hold. So I used a zip tie, which holds it, but with the magnet off the glass, and it makes the whole thing vibrate. I'm going to have to replace the bracket.

well i hope they fix these issues before the 6055's come out other wise i will need to re-think my plan. i would like to add 4 to my 150 sps because a few acro colonies are geting real thick! (bad problem to have ;) im going to follow the thread to see what happens. good luck guys/gals. imo they are by far they are still the best on the market at this time even with the small issues.

I'm still having problems with mine not starting up on the timer. I have made a starting stick out of hard air tubing and bent the end to stick in it to start the prop. At this point I am not happy with it at all. It makes a clicking sound when it starts up. Does anybody elses make the clicking sound?

I think the CLICK noise, which I hear as well, is the impeller/prop jumping out of the well as it corrects the direction it spins in when the power goes on. The maxi-jet "stream" mod does the same thing -- it has a brake that prevents the prop from spinning in the wrong direction. Correct me if I am wrong, Roger....

have you tried talking to roger about this. from other threads i have read he 1) fixes them very quickly 2) will replace it if it is a factory defect or 3) will help you to solve or understand the problem. jmo though.

You'll like the nano streams alot better. I used to have two 620s on my 75 but I sold them since they are pretty much useless for flow in any tank. I debating on getting another 6025 or wait until the 6055s come out. Here's a pic I snaped of the 6025 I have on my 75. The 6060 is on the other side of the tank.

I'm planning on getting a 6055 on a single controller soon when they are available, but how big are these nanostreams compared to that SEIO 620 you were using before? I currently have two 820s and I am getting sick of their suction cups and inability to create turbulent flow. I'm thinking of keeping one 820 and then having the 6055 pulse against the flow of the 820.

they are smaller than a 620 and the magnet mount is much smaller

they destroy a 620 a 620 is nothing compared to it

i would say pulse a 6055 and put a 6025 on the on the other side the 820s flow will dissapear whend the 6055 comes on it is going to push serious water like three times a 6025( i heard)

Nano spinning wrong direction

Nano spinning wrong direction

Bought 2 6025s from Marine Depot. One works great. . . the other regularly spins the wrong direction creating huge sand storms. They only turn "on" and "off" once a day, so I don't think this is a taxing wave routine.

Anyone else having problems with them not correcting themselves for spin direction.

How much is a 6025? That might be a good idea, but I probably would have them not entirely against eachother, but in whatever way I can create the most turbulence. Right now I have almost 60x turnover, so I probably will be running the 6055 on a 25% 75% pulse like I have my 6100 in my 90g. I'll probably toss the extra 820's in there.

I had the tabs break off the bracket also. Ended up just super gluing the bracket to the magnet. Now I am dealing with a flow issue. There is actually too much flow! It creates quite a sandstorm if not perfectly positioned in my tank. Roger came up with an idea to use silicone to block off half the intake vents to recuce input. I was told you never want to reduce a pumps output due to pressure and turbulence problems at the prop. I will let it cure for a couple of days before trying it out in the tank.
