I first bought the Nanostream 6025 a few weeks ago and overall I was pretty satisfied with it. It pumped quite a bit a water and was very quite. Based on that experience, I waited until the 6045 would come out and I received 2 6045s from Premium Aquatics' first shipment.
What a disappointment after only one week of use.
1) When they first come on they "rattle", and this is something the 6025 never did. But that's not a huge deal as I'm not overly annoyed by the noise. The fish don't like it though, as when the rattle starts they dash for the rocks to safety.
2) THE MAJOR ISSUE I HAVE WITH THE 6045 IS WITH THE WATER MOVEMENT. I know it is hard to believe, but putting the two pumps side by side, I can honestly tell you that the 6025 pumps MORE water (maybe twice as much) as either of the 6045s. Although it wasn't a scientific evaluation, I can confidently tell you that the 6025 blows on my hand twice as hard as either of the 6045.
I would like to hear Tunze response on this, as I spent $200+ for the two 6045, only to get less performance.
Has anyone else experienced such discrepancy?
