tunze osmo regulator 3150U

What's the difference between this and the Tunze Osmolator 3155?

My LFS in HK ran out of 3155s and recommended me the 3150U, but I'm still not sure if it's as good as the 3155. Pls explain the pros and cons of each model.

Roger may have more insight but i do believe the only difference is the suction cup mounting on the 3150U.

Interesting, can't wait to see more responses. My LFS told me that the only difference is that the 3150U doesn't have a LED panel.

Are you sure this number is correct I have the Tunze catalogue of all parts and products and have no listing.

That's what my LFS informed me. I can't find anything about it on the web too. They said the only thing that's different is that the 3150u doesn't have a LED Panel.

I have found this also on the web but it is not listed in the latest catalogue. I suspect an old style or for a specific market.
I have asked Tunze for some info.

This is great JetCat USA and Graeme. Pls inform me for more info. I'm leaving town in a few weeks, and I'm thinking whether to get the 3150U or the aquamedic ATO. My lfs in HK won't get the 3155 in time before I leave.

The 3150U has not been made in over 6 years. It used two float switched instead of an optic switch and float back up. The floats tended to fail over time. That model was discontinued in late 2000 and replaced by 3155.

Since my HK LFS couldn't get me a 3155 - I ordered one from www.reefdepot.com.sg in Singapore. It arrived via DHL the next day. I'm so happy with it. So easy to set up and it works like a charm.
