Im having Trouble with my ATO at the moment. I use a 100 gallon rubbermaid for my Sump. The sensor is in the 100g sump and I have a 55 gallon reserve for fresh water top off. Over the past few months ive come home 2 or 3 times (once from vacation!!) to a 1/2 full sump because of the ATO not working. The low level light is blinking red. I have replaced the pump once.

I just found out today that i could adjust the pump speed and put it to max. Is there anything else that could be the problem?

Adjusting the flow rate will probably fix your problem. If the ato runs too long trying to refill the sump, it has a time out where it stops & needs to be reset.

The red too low means it tried for 10 minutes to run the pump and a top off to the sensor did not occur. Their are many possible causes.

1) The system is bigger than 300 gallons and or has an unusually high evaporation rate, 10 minutes is 2-3 gallons depending on pump speed setting. If the highest speed does not work, you may need to use the switched socket adapter and a larger pump.

2) The pump was airlocked after running dry and did not prime, tip it upside down to release the air.

3) Their is a leak or plumbing issue, besides a leak a surge or obstruction which causes the sump to run low due to water not draining could cause this.

4) The pump is bad and not working.

5) Rarely the timer is faulty and does not let the pump run a full 10 minutes, this is not a super precise timer but should be in the range of 8-12 minutes.

It's a 400 gallon system. Maybe it just can't keep up

It is possible, 400 tends to be the upper limit of the stock pump, but try it with the higher pump speed.

Ive tried the higher speed and it works better, but its still not keeping up. Is there another pump that i can buy?

You would need the 3150.110 switched socket adapter and then you can use the 115V AC pump of your choice as long as it used below 900W.

sorry to hijack this thread but need some help also

hows it going man really need your help so i have a 3155 and its been working awesome but just recently when setting it up again it doesn't work

so when i plug the power into the 3155 the box will turn on then in about 3-4 secs it will shut off and then all the leds turn on and start blinking and making a beeping sound
