Tunze Osmolator ATO not working

I believe there is something wrong with the pump. The controller behaves properly as it is indicating the correct water levels and when it is below the eye, the yellow light comes on as if it's trying to pump water. However, the pump doesn't seem to be working. Any hints on how to fix it?

Thanks.

I think it could be a bad pump or a corroded or bad connection. I would at least try making a new connection bewteen the pump and contoller to rule that out.

You can also test the pump with a 9V battery, if it comes on, this is not conclusive, however if it does not work at all, you can be sure the pump is dead and a new one will likely solve the problem. It could be the pump, wiring to the pump and connector or the controller causing this. If the controller is 3+ years old, it is likely the controller and it needs a minor circuit board repair, otherwise it is likely the wiring or pump.

I just noticed that the harness connecting the pump to the controller has some corrosion on it. I will try the 9V battery test and see what happens.

Question...if I order the metering pump, does it come with the wire adapter that connects the wires to the wires leading to the controller?

It does not, this part comes with the 5017 controller, they do sell these at Radio shack, I have also seen them at Lowes, they refer to them as a European connector at Radio Shack or as a Terminal Block at Lowes. The Radio Shack one is preferred because it is for smaller gauge wire, as I recall they have two sizes, the Lowes version is for larger gauge wire.

My local radio shack didn't have the European connector. Would it be bad to just tie the wires together or crimp them together?

Your local store ought to be able to order it with no shipping cost. I also don't mind picking them up for you, I can mail them for about $1.25.
