Tunze Osmolator - no power

I have an older Tunze Osmolator. Not sure of model number, but it has the optical eye and float switch backup. I got it approximately 4-5 years ago.

It still functions GREAT, with one minor problem.

When I have to move/unplug the controller, it does not always turn back on when plugged in. I have to jiggle the plug. Sometimes I have to jiggle it at the outlet end, sometimes at the controller end. Once it is on, it does not ever power off by itself.

Do I just need a new power supply?

Most likely, yes. If you look at the inner portion of the DC tip that plugs into the controller, it is likely corroded. If it lands in water, the combination of electricity and saltwater will corrode it rather quickly and severely and result in bad contact, it should be shiny nickel plate on the outer shell (-) and the inner tip (+).

So I can just order a new power supply? Or can I just use one that I have laying around if it matches voltage/amperage?

Either is possible, you need 9-12V DC and at least 1200mA, the tip is 2.5 by 5mm, tip positive. Amazon stocks this part as does Premium Aquatics and you can also order it on Tunze.com, our part number is 5012.010.
