Tunze Osmolator not working

Hi Roger, I just picked one up from Marine Depot. This is the newer one with the magnets to hold all the sensors. It seems the water sensor does not work, and the pump continues to run. My water level is way passed the "white" water line on the magnet by about a 1 1/2 before I unplugged it. I have the older osmolator and pretty sure there is something wrong with my sensor. I also tried wiping the sensor with water and cloth. Please adivse what I should do next. Thanks.

How big is the tank and what do the display LED's indicate? If the tank is small, the osmolator will pump for about 10 seconds after a fill is registered and this can cause an overflow. I would try a rinse the sensor with hot soapy water. Recently I got one back and found the only problem was the cable was not unwound and the controller was mounted right by the magnet holder. This was causing the magnetic field to close the relay and keep the pump on, make sure the controller is not mounted by the magnet holder and that the controller shows the pump is on during this time. For 10 seconds about it will show yellow and green, water is level but pump is still on, this can be a problem in a small tank and there is a fix for this. If it only shows water level (green) but pump not on and water is still flowing there is likely a siphon problem

Thanks Roger, I will check when I get home. The sump is a 40 gal sump. I'm pretty sure it pumped at least 3 gallons before I unplugged it. My wires are wound up next to the magnet but the controller is about 1 1/2 feet away from the magnets. Thanks.

So, I cleaned the sensor with warm water and soap. Put it back in service. Green light came on, and yellow light came on. Ran for a little bit then stop (normal). At this point the entire sensor is submerge up to the wire because I set the sensor a little submerge. So thinking the soap and water did the trick I left it as is.
I came back (30 min later) to find out 4 gal was pumped into my sump. Red light is on, sensor wire is now 1" underwater. Refill my top off, and put it back in service. Yellow light comes on and doesn't stop. Green light never comes on.

I would try moving the controller and wires. The magnets are only shielded on the front face where the sensors mount, it is possible the magnetic field is causing this, but it may also be a bad controller, but we should rule this out first, if that doesn't fix it, let me know and we will get it swapped out.

Thanks Roger, I did this this past Sunday. Moving all the wires away from the magnets and it did the trick. I also adjusted the hi-level sensor next to my water level just in case. So far so good, I'll keep you posted.
