Tunze osmolator problems

So I just bought osmolator and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I placed the controller about 1 1/2 feet from the magnet/sensors and it turns on and off every two minutes or so until it is above both sensors. Now I moved the magnet to another part of the sump and it keeps doing the same thing. So how do I correct this problem? Also how often is it suppose to run? Would it be better if I put it on a timer? I should also say that I cleaned it with soap and water like I've read in this forum, that helped a little, but didn't solve the problem.

Can you try setting it up in a "controlled" enviroment like on the kitchen table using a few bowls of water and see if it does the same thing.

Is the controller near a ballast or anything else that can produce a magnetic field?

No the controller is not near a ballast. They are about 4 feet above the unit. When i get home I will try and set it up in a controlled area and see. Thanks.

Also, be sure you are not getting a siphon, it is critical that the end of the hose be above the water level of the reservoir, you should always pump up to the tank and never to the sump for this reason.
