TUNZE Osmomat Auto Top-Off for 23 gal?

I've been researching auto top-offs for my 23 gal bowfront. I don't have a sump. I'm running a Remora skimmer w/bubble catcher and having trouble keeping the box full of water that the maxijet sets in. I love this skimmer and the bubble catcher, but because of water evaporation, I have to keep a close eye on the water level.

I've heard rave reviews about the Osmomat, but am concerned about the tank space the Osmomat might require. I also want to make sure the 3155 model is the one I need. Can anyone confirm the model I need and/or another solution for water topoff in a 23 gallon tank?

It would work but they are out of production. The Osmomat was roughly 5" tall, 2" deep and 4.5" long.

alternative?

alternative?

Is there an alternative auto topoff you'd recommend? Is it a temporary production problem?

It was discontinued because it was overly complicated and a poor seller, it is permanently cancelled. We hope to come up with a holder to improve the intank usabvility of the osmolator, which will work in tank but the water level has to be run lower than most people prefer.

Will this new holder work with the the Osmomat? Because I find mine to be very touchy...either the pump runs it dry, or too much water is added and the alarm goes off...until it evaporates and it runs dry again. After ages trying to get it working, and trying to find the elusive power level for the little pump, it was working OK for a week or so, but the sponge got dirty so I had to clean it...back to square one.

So overcomplicated is right! These thing are supposed to be a convenience! It would be great if something is done to improve this.

Simcan, I think the problem you have is mainly with the mounting. If you have the suction cup at the bottom of the rail and the metal screws tightened properly this should not be so much of an issue. When we have a solution it will work but with the basic brain unit, pump you have but that would be the only part used the box and other items would be eliminated.
