Tunze Ozmolator pump amperage

So I am so happy with how the Tunze Ozmolator pump works that I want to use a couple for some other applications I have. I know that its 9 volts DC but am not sure what it takes in terms of amps. The power supply that comes with the package is an 11v 1600 milliamp wall wart but that seems too much to me.

I tried a google search but no joy... Does anyone know what the amperage is on this?

TIA

It varies depending on the head pressure, higher head pressure reduces the wattage, 1200mA is the maximum the controller will allow the pump to draw, it shuts it off at that point, 800-1000mA is the normal range.

Thank you sir! Any reason not to use this pump with a controller like an ACIII or RKE for things like Automatic Water Change or dosing? I would be splicing the wires coming out of the pump into a 9v 1100 mA wall wart that would go into a plug...?

They don't handle dosing of kalk or alkaline buffers for very long, the high pH eats the seals, most trace elements are fine though. For water changes I am not sure, they are a light duty pump meant for short run times, if you kept the run times short and kept a spare on hand it would probably be OK.

Thank you!
Sorry I should have been more specific. Dosing wise it sounds like a bad idea due to the pH eating of the seals. I would be dosing kalk.

As to awc, I was thinking of using it for daily short run water changes where I export 1 gallon and import 1 gallon in 1/2 gallon intervals twice a day so with it rated at 3 gph it would run for 10 minutes at a shot twice a day. Would that be ok?
