Tunze safety connector

I am looking to buy a couple of safety connectors and was wondering can they handle a 24 volt battery setup instead of 12 volt. I have a large deep cycle battery setup so the extra power is no issue as far as power draw.

This is no problem for the safety connector, the main complication will be keeping the batteries charged as I have not yet found a 24V trickle charger.

I don't think any mod would be needed. I cannot say for sure, not having tried it, but the power connections are the same.

Has anyone tried using the Ecotech battery backup with their Tunze streams? Is there anything else needed besides the safety connector?

I haven't set mine up yet, but my LFS guru said it is no trouble. I think you need to cut the vortect battery lead and match it to the +ve and -ve wires from the Tunze safety connector. I was told the vortect battery is 12V.

I am not positive, but I am relatively sure we use the same power connection 2.5 by 5.5 mm. I don't think you would even need the safety connector as the basics of this would be inside the Vortech Battery Backup. For that matter you could use a computer UPS. The main advantage of the safety connector is flexibility, you can change the battery, use various batteries including disposable lantern batteries on smaller model pumps (roughly 3 hr run time on a 6055) and use a solar charger if you are near a window or exterior wall to extend run time in an emergency.
