Tunze Silence Stopped Working

Bought a new Tunze USA 1073.020 Silence Recirculation Pump March 30, 2017. First time i plugged the pump in it didnt work. I was able to get it running and it has worked fine up until a few days ago when I getting ready to leave for the weekend and went to check the tank and found the pump was off. Checked the power supply and it had power. If i hadnt checked the tank one last time this would have been catastrophic! This pump is only 3 months old and has become a liability. What are my options to get this replaced?

Almost always the cause is just that a bushing came loose in shipping and just needs to be reseated. The only possibilities center around the impeller assembly. I would open the pump, make sure everything is clean and the bushings are fully seated, if they slide out of the sockets they sit in they will bind the impeller so it cannot start without assistance.

Thanks, I can check this. If the bushing were not fully seated would it also cause the pump to fail while powered on?

Yes, without the bushing seated in the socket, it will bind the shaft causing it to stop, it can also allow the rotor to wobble and bind on the walls of the pump.
