Hy
I´m from Brazil and have a 9020 working in my tank since December 2007.
My reef have about 700 liters and it´s loaded with fishes, SPSs and LPSs.

I´m a very happy tunze Customer, from Skimmer to calcium reactors and pumps, but at this moment I have problems with this skimmer, it´s not producing as much skimmate as I´d like (maximum of 0,5 liter per week).

i make no adjusts... just let all air intake open and all the water flow open as well.

is there any good tip for me ?

regards.

Is there one side that performs more than another? Can you post some pictures? .5l per week sounds very good for this size aquarium. Can you give more details about the number of fish and the amount of feeding?

Roger, thanks a lot for your support.

Let´s go to the answers:

1- Yes, there is one side that performs half of the other (same air intake and same water intake)
2- Here you find pictures of my tank: http://www.reefcorner.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=63706
3- Have two medium Tangs (Desjardini / yellow) four green chromis, flame angel, mandarim, four medium clowns (sebae / percula)
4- Anemona, SPSs, LPSs, etc etc.

Three weeks ago I totally cleaned the skimmer (it wasn´t producin any skimmate) and by now it improved a lot... but still just .5l of skimmate per week)

The weat foam goes at the point were the cup start reducing the size.

is there any tip on how to tune this skimmer ?

Please check that the one side has the same size impeller as the other and that the venturi nozzles are the same. I think one half has either a broken nozzle or a smaller impeller.

I just checked the nozzle (is the part where the air is mixed with the water ?) and looks like both are broken (in the junction wherer the air tube is connected)
If the impeller is the Pump, both are equal in size.

Regards.

That is what I thought, this happens sometimes in shipping. That piece is glued and sometimes if the glue was not done right, with sufficient prep and enough glue the shock of shipping can break these parts. Contact your dealer and they should be able to get you these parts under warranty.

Roger, thanks a lot.
As I was responsible (I bought in US and brought with me to brazil) It´s not fair to charge a reseller or Tunze for that...
So i´d like to know if there is any Part number or specification that i could use to buy these part.

Should I find it on Marinedepot ?

Best regards.

You need 2* part 3130.13, you can order it on Tunze.com but it will probably ship from Germany so it will take a few weeks minimum by post and including customs. You could also try the distributor for Brazil- Onda Aquarios, the mans name is Alexandre Talarico, he is very helpful and said he had a good stock of parts, he is in Sao Paulo.
