Try without the deflectors, I started with the deflectors and found the wider flow filled the tank better without the deflectors.

I tried without deflector on one pump for some days, which gave a significant higher flow.
But as I use a very small gravel size, about sugar size, I got a high movement of substrate. Even after reducing flow to 50 %, I got to much substrateproblems.

I have put deflector back, and now test out some other positions of pumps to improve flow in affected areas.

For me the biggest sand problems were related to the one time per day backwards run for some seconds to clean the pump. I just had to move it higher from the sand, but otherwise every day the sand under the pump was completely moved away.
