Hey Curt,
I would be more than happy to be a BETA tester and I will pay the shipping.:D :D
I have 2 Nanostreams and an AC jr.

Jon
the Neptune controller only works with the controllable tunzes... not the 6025 or 6045 nanostreams...
The 6055s is a different story... but who has those?

AC jr (for now-180G will bring an AC III into the mix) here with 3 6100's and a brand new 7095. Could always do a comparitive test. ;)

Great to hear about the added functionality. I'm definitely glad I went with Neptune Systems over the other controllers out there.

Is it a secret how many pumps one unit will be able to control?

Also, will each pump be counted toward the 24 device maximum on ACIII?

Thanks.

AC3 Pro owner and Tunze 2x6100 + Wavebox..... Very interested in this project.

Also currently the Multicontroller from tunze does accept the wavebox, will the neptune controller do the same, if so would it add any features currently not found on the multicontroller with a pump+wavebox setup :D thanks.

Since I appeared to be the very first retail customer in the world to get a 6055 on hand, and also probably the only one that will ever went as far as to mod it to pump out nearly 3,000 gph, let me offer some input for 6055 control.

The Tunze controllers are able to vary flows from 100% to 30%, but I don't think 30% is low enough to produce true wave motion, variable flow yes but not wave. But the Stream pumps can not be run at less than 25% of the max flow so the Tunze controller understandably made the lowest setting at 30%.

The 6055 on the other hand can do as little as 18% of the max flow at 12V. The max flow is at 24V. I hope any controller made for 6055 can at least lower the flow to that level, probably even less that 18%.

Please keep that in mind for future 6055 base. I can use some real waves, I know my 6055 can do the job only if there is a controller to help.

No, the Jr owners won't be left out. It plugs into the AquaController through the control port (telephone cord), and looks like a direct connect box to the AquaController.
Currently we have prototypes running in the lab, and beta testing will begin soon. The release date will be determined after we get some beta test feedback.

Curt

BTW Curt, I will be happy to test for you on my modded 6055. You can also check out the "Tunze Nano Mod" thread to find out what I did to my 6055 and whether it will be a good candidate for your test.

streams can run at 0%, if you put growing current on.. and have it be in a 1 minute cycle ...

matt

What is a growing current? Does it have to be 1 minute cycle? I am doing 5-second cycle right now, the longest on the Tunze controller.

the rising current is one of the modes [like tide]

that
turns pump 1 on

then 1+2
then 1+2+3
then 1+2+3+4, all the while pulsing at their set 30-100% ratios.

i have 2 on there in slots 2 and 3, so every 2-3 minutes [using the cycle timer] all pumps shut off, then one comes on, then then both. then off again. getting the "true" changing of currents.. you can do it very fast so a cycle happens in 10 seconds or less....

it is technically called "Sequential pump circuit- The pumps are started one after the other, which produces a swelling current. The switching time can be adjusted."

I am not considering turning pump off as part of the control feature since it can be done already I think. Rather the pulsing flow range should consider the newer generation of Tunze controllable pumps such as the 6055 and upcoming 6101 large pump.

The old Stream pumps can not be turned down to less than 25% of the full flow, that is why the Tunze controllers do 30% to 100% only. The 6055 can do at least 18% to 100% and even the 6101 can do at least 20% to 100%.

These two new pumps obviously will be the primary pumps sold in the future, so the Tunze controls to be considered in the future Neptune controllers should use these two pumps as target.

As the proud owner of 2 6055s, a 7095 and an ACjr., I'd be happy to do some testing for you. =)

Im more interested in an ETA than the details :p

the 6101 is due out in a month or so, Im on the list for 2 of them, Id hate to buy a 7095 when I have an AC jr.

unless the addon is 200bucks... then I dont really know what Ill do. the 7095 seems to hit the nail right on the head, only way I see reason to deviate is if the AC can do it all for cheaper(minus the initial investment we all already made for other reasons)

I'm not familiar with the Tunze way of control. Does anyone know if this particular controller for Tunze could potentially work with Hydor Koralias as well?
