Tunze Stream control?

this was asked before:
Curt, can you comment on the "enchanced programming language" comment?
Willl you include the "if timerX and/or timerY then" statement?

the answer:

Nope, it won't contain And/Or statements. The exact syntax of the new commands will be revealed when the unit ships. I'm not going the give the competition a head start on how we implement the AquaSurf functionality.

Curt

which all things considered IMO is a fair response

Lutefisk,
Yes, the enhancements to the language allow you to synchronize pumps if so desired.

LOL! :D

Thank you very much Curt.

It sounds like a great product and it looks like I'll be "needing" a AquaSurf! :cool:

Thanks again,
Paul

I've been looking into buying a Tunze 6055 so that I can use it with the AquaSurf. Something I noticed is that many sites list them as 230V instead of the 115V. Would these versions work with the new controller assuming I have a step-up converter to run them? Any compatibility issues?

I have the same doubt...

I don't personally have a 6055 so I don't know. But I'd think that there will be a 120V version of the 6055 for use in the US; a 220V version just isn't a good product.

Their pumps will be controllable. Ecotech is currently working on a wireless (and wired) wavemaking controller. There are videos an the internet already of early prototypes. Tim at Ecotech says the controllers will be available in "late spring" or "early summer".
o

That would be what summer? The summer of 62? Sorry that's a song, really though the summer of what year? Ecotech promises a lot, delivers? No matter on what kind of controller the Vortechs have, they will always be parallel to the front or side glass, the control of the Vortechs are too limited for me. For the Vortech owners, if it gives what they want, then cool, that is all that really matters.

dtaylor123,

When it came to aiming the flow of the vortech, I initially had the same concern. I previously used a multi nozzle return system with a squirt which was very flexible as to where I aimed it. I purchased one vortech just to try out. I now have two vortechs and have done away with the CL. The wide flow more than negates the need to aim it. It also eliminated the hot spots and dead spots.

When it comes to control I have been a strong critic of the vortech. This is why I decided to do a DIY. Have a look at this thread.

With what I learn with this DIY, I am hoping Curt at Neptune will build an Aquasurf for the vortech also.

Giovanni,

I reread my post and I used poor choice of words. I didn't want to sound like jerk ranting about Ice Cap, their products are superb. I do understand the not being able to aim, really is not that big issue. I would how ever like to see a side by side test when Eco-Tech gets their controller out (I know they will, they also know that everyday they do not have one, they lose potential customers, so it will happen) with two Tunze 6101's with a 7095 multi controller and two Eco-Tech's pumps and their controller. I have the 6001's and the multi controller, I have always thought that Tunze's were way over priced and used Seio's instead. Well still not sure about the Tunze price (most things in this hobby are over priced) but I am completely satisfied. I choose the 6001's over a CL and I love the flow in the tank and almost endless variations. Plus with new 6101's they give you two options, so if I wanted I could get 7200 GPH out of those two pumps and that's incredible. I imagine when everything shakes out both the Tunze's and the Eco-Techs will be equal and then it is just consumer choice. I do like that Eco-Tech (IceCap) is a USA company, that does go a long way for me and if they had their multi controller ready, when I was ready to buy, who knows. In closing I do apologize to any Eco-Tech users that I may have offended.

Yay! Got my Aquasurf in the mail today. Instructions say that I need firmware 3.3 and to go to the website to download it, but when I go to downloads, I don't see it. Have you guys posted 3.3 yet? (Only see 3.2.)

I haven't found this info all in one place yet: what exactly comes with the aquasurf?

* aquasurf unit
* cables to connect up to 4 tunze streams to aquasurf?
* power adapter?
* telephone cord to daisy chain DC8 & aquasurf?
* anything else? instruction manual?

and from the previous discussions, it looks like my ACIII will need a firmware upgrade, right?

Thanks.
Curt
