Tunze Stream control?

does it need any special adapters to plug into the aquasurf or does it fit the same plug as the 7095?

Also for the pulsing modes, can you select a square wave or sinusoidal wave?

OK. So, all you guys with Tunze streams and Aquacontrollers who are now going with this new controller - what are you doing with the Tunze controller?

I love the idea of controlling even more stuff with my AC3P, but I already have the Tunze controller. Is it worth changing? Is there are market to sell the Tunze controller without the streams?

this controller allows you more flexibility. you can independently set each of the streams.

the quickest pulse the 7095 will do is 1.5 seconds, and with the aquasurf it is .1 seconds.

I am considering getting the aquasurf later this year after i can actually see how well the product works.

I think the ability to set feed/night cycles with the rest of your system would be nice. Maybe some of the ultra-cool people might find it interesting to graph the wave types and see it influences pH, ORP or something else?

ordered the aquasurf and already sold my controller. I'm running my tunzes w/o a controller currently. So now I am patiently for the aqua surf :)

the more I hear about it the better it sounds.

I was fortunate enough to be able to beta the aquasurf and all I can say is WOW. I'm able to control each of the four pumps individually all doing different things if that is how you want it set up. I have it set up as followed...

Dawn = wave

midday = all four pumps going every .3 seconds 30/100% (I've owned tunze wave boxes in the past and they are nice but with this above setting the flow and the waves are so chaotic. there are mini waves on top of mini waves

Dusk= Wave motion

Evening = back two pumps then front two pumps every 60 seconds at 3/100%

Middle of night = Left pumps then right pumps every 60 seconds 30/100%

there are other features you can do, it's really how creative you want to get with the programming.

Definitely a nice piece of equipment and my 7095 will be up for sale also...

very nice! good info to know. but you really didn't have to rub in the beta testing :lol:

the worst part is they ship MACNA week so I'll have to wait till after MACNA to play with it :(

Curt,

From what I'm understanding about the AquaSurf and how the Tunze system works I'd guess that it would be possible to replace the existing WaveBox controller with the AquaSurf.

What I'm interested in doing is combining my existing Tunze Streams and WaveBox control all in the AquaSurf. From what I read about every channel being independently controllable this appears to be a good possibility. What are your thoughts?

Please excuse me if I missed it earlier in the thread but can you post a summary of the AquaSurf commands?

Thanks,
Paul

Yes, will be able to control all the pumps independently. For example longer on/off cycles on the Streams, and short on/off cycles on the wavebox. The manual will be placed on our website when we begin shipping next week.

What I'm wondering about is how the different channels are synchronized?

eg. running the Tunze Wavebox at it's current resonant frequency and my two streams at 1/4 the frequency and two Streams on opposite sides of the tank at full power for four times the duration of the Wavebox.

My idea is to run my streams on a harmonic of resonant frequency contributing to the wave but not working the Streams as hard as they would at the wavebox frequency (my understanding is that the Wavebox electronics are sized with this in mind and that might not be true about the streams). This might also contribute to a slower "sloshing" movement since the resonant frequency of my 6' tank causes reversing motion that is much faster than found in nature.

Will it work? I'm not sure but it would be fun to try.

I'm looking forward to the manual being posted.

Szwab,

The question I'm most interested in, how different channels can or cannot be synchronized, isn't part of the information you or anyone else has posted.

Like I concluded my post, I'm looking forward to the manual being posted next week which should answer most of my questions in case Curt doesn't have time to answer the specific question I posted.

Thanks for the nice summary of the posted information. I'm sure others will find it helpful too.

Paul
