Tunze Stream Deco Rock

Well I think i've made the decision to splurge and get a Tunze. To alleviate the inconvenience of a large powerhead in the tank, I was thinking about getting the deco rock. I was just curious if anyone has one and has some pics to share. Also, it is extremely expensive. I'm already gonna spend around $150+ on the powerhead, and another $75 is kind of going overboard. So, has anyone DIY'd one? I was thinking of making some aragacrete or just getting some dry base rock and work with that. Any info/tips/pics would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Urabggr, I have two of them that I had in my 120. When is set up my 120 again, I will continue to use them. If there is enough other rock, it is hard to tell the difference. Also, after a while they become covered with stuff, as with all your rock. For pictures, do a search on king1522. I posted some pictures a couple years ago.

After looking for along time, I finally found the post where you posted pictures. But guess what.... they're gone! Anyway, I take it you liked them? What about you reefkeeps... are you selling them out of anger or not? Also, how exactly do they work? Would I be able to put it on the sandbed, etc? Sorry for all the questions... search doesn't work as usual.

according to roger in the tunze forum , they can not be put on the sand bed , need to be about 1/2 way to 2/3 up into the tank

Out of Anger? No, I'm getting rid of the one I have becouse I need more room in the tank. I wouldn't put it on a sand bed without a rock or something to prevent the pump from sucking up the sand below it. King is right, after a few months it blends in perfectly. Mine actually had frags mounted all over it.
