After months of waiting I placed my pre-order from aquariumspecialty.com for a pair of the new 6025 (660 GPH) tunze turbelle nanostreams. They are scheduled to arrive in late september. I'll give my review and share pics when I get them. If I have enough interest and Pam is ok with it, I can bring them to the frag swap so everyone can take a look at them (Oct. 7th right?). They are only 2.7" in diameter (and so are the larger versions). To view the PDF click here They look like a great solution to smaller tanks that aren't drilled for a closed loop.

That's cool..

Anyone know of those magnetic ones where the mag drive is on the outside and the impeller/powerhead is in the tank and it induces magnetisim through the glass so there no motor in the tank and no heat?

just heard that they'll be delayed til mid october because the german saftey inspector is on vacation.

Price? Do they require a controller?

no, they can be turned on and off at 15+ minute intervals though.

There's a 6055 that is controllable by the regular tunze controllers.

They do not need a controller but the largest model can be used with one. The 6025 is around $60, 6045 around $95, 6055 around $200. You can click on the link to see the PDF in my first post for more info on the pumps.

Expect an even later launch date then that. They have a really bad track record of pushing release dates back, then, there's not enough supplu to fill the US deamnd/orders, so you have to wait even longer :(

I'm thinking around Christmas time, especially since that's when they said the 6055 will be released.

There actually surprisingly cheap for a tunze and they all include the magnet holder. I think these will eventually replace all seios.

They aren't too bad...for Tunze, although personally, even $60 is a little pricey for a PH, IMO.

I don't think getting a few $$$ off would hurt. ;)

Update: 300 of the 6025's are currently in transit on their way to the USA. Once they arrive they will be shipped out to various online dealers. I have 2nd day shipping so I should be getting them within the next 1-3 weeks. :)

Yeah, these are sweet. I think I'm going to replace my seio's and maxi's with the 6055 on a controller when they become more readily available. They really look promising!

I also think the Master DOC skimmers are going to be winners. I can't wait to see those out.

Lets hope these get through customs quickly. I've read in the H&S and Deltec forums about shipments o their products taking quite a bit of time to clear :(

I'll have my fingers crossed.

Jim

I currently have 2 maxi-jet 1200's so I'll be getting more than twice as much flow and 1/3 the wattage. Not only that but their smaller, black, and Tunze quality. :D

i'm going to be ordering 4x6045's for a 68 gallon ;) Should be some kick butt turnover for very little wattage!

can't wait to see how it works out for you jordan.
